Oat so Simple! Blueberry & Apple Crumble

Last week we showed you a brown bread crumble, this week we are making a wholemeal crumble using oats and wholemeal flour. We know its summer and you want to spend as much time outside, dining al fresco with your friends as possible, so we have cheated a little bit with ready-made pastry cases.

To make the Apple & Blueberry compote

~ 200 g Blueberries / 200g Apples

~ 120 ml Water

~ 180 ml Port

~ 15 ml Lemon Juice

~ ¼ tsp Black pepper

~ 1 tsp Cornflour

~ 170 g Sugar

Method

Add ingredients together and boil until it is a soft compote

For the Wholemeal Crumble

~ 50 g Wholemeal Flour

~ 50 g Sugar

~ 50 g Oats

~ 50g butter (melted)

Method

Place all the dry ingredients into a bowl

Add the melted butter

Mix & Place on a baking tray and bake for 20 mins at 180

How to make the apple & blueberry crumble

You will need a pastry case Place compote into pastry case Add crumble to the top Bake for 10 – 25 minutes (depending on the size of your pastry case)
