Eoin Jenkinson our baker in residence here at The Little Mill and long time advocate of sourdough will be giving a bread making demonstration at the Macroom Food festival. So come along where he will be working his magic with The Little Mill range of flours.
Macroom Food Festival is delighted to bring together the vibrant community of local food producers in a Macroom Food Producer Expo to be held at Macroom Town Hall. A new addition to the Macroom Food Festival programme for 2016, Blas na hÁite features a series of interactive and informative talks, demonstrations and tastings focused on local and sustainable food production in the Macroom area.
Events will run in the town hall at half past every hour in conjunction with the food market in the square. Free admission to all events.
1130 - Speciality Coffee Tasting with Golden Bean, Badger & Dodo and West Cork Coffee Roasters.
1230 - Floral Design Workshop with Hana from Hanako Floral Studio
1330 - Local Cheese Showcase with Coolea Cheese, Sunview Goats Cheese and Toonsbridge Dairy.
1430 - Food Producer Panel Discussion. Hosted by the Irish Examiner’s Joe McNamee, this panel discussion will delve into the opportunities and obstacles faced by small food producers and provide some insight into the potential of added-value for farmers and routes to market for aspiring food producers. Panel guests will include Denis Cotter (Café Paradiso, Cork), Jack McCarthy (Of Black Pudding fame, Kanturk), Caroline Robinson (Robinson’s Farm, Templemartin) and Ned McCarthy (McCarthy’s Natural Dairy, Cill na Matra).
